I can go all day without a cigarette, but then at night I chain smoke like a mad fiend -- I can rarely write anything substantial without a cigarette, which is horrible, I know.
I did quit once, last year for nearly six months -- but then I listened to Stephen Fry's biography and about his love affair with tobacco and I was like.... beeline to the dépanneur.
I though it was just me that found Stephen Fry's biography like smoking porn! Seriously, I'm so close to going and buying a pack of Marlboro right now!
I haven't actually seen that yet. I know, I'm a horrible person.
I sat through all of War Horse for Benedict's 5 minutes -- (well, 8 minutes, but the additionally three are only because of the slow motion) -- but I haven't seen Third Star yet.
In all honesty, he's never looked less attractive to me...and the man usually makes me want to lick any screen he's appearing on! However, I have an extremely strong aversion to cigarettes and the foul poison they spew into the atmosphere, not to mention kissing a smoker. Yuck! It's like licking the bottom of an ashtray! Eeew!
I will still however be friends with smokers while still letting them know that to people who have retained their sense of smell, they stink! ;-)
I concede your point ... but the bit of me that still likes cigarettes is having none of it. I wish I felt like you actually, it would make my life so much easier.
Just think about how nice it is to smell and taste things again!
Really, it's mostly about the smell and taste I can't stand. I have a very, very sensitive nose. Some of my best friends (and thus the best people on the planet) have been in the grip of that addiction for years. I rib them about it but I still love them.
